Test accounts
Use test accounts to ensure that your integration supports all possible flows and scenarios. They have the same features as a real Mercado Pago account, allowing you to test the functioning of the integrations you are developing.
For integrations with Wallet Connect via Orders API, some test accounts are created automatically after creating the application. However, you can also create other accounts manually. To do so, follow the instructions below.
To perform a test, you need to have at least two accounts:
- Seller: account required to configure the application and credentials for charging. This is your user account.
- Buyer: account required to test the purchase process and wallet linking.
In addition to these accounts, it is also important to set the balance in the test user's Mercado Pago account, which will be debited when simulating payments with Wallet Connect. See more details below.
To create accounts and test the functioning of the integrations, follow the steps below.
- In the Devsite, navigate to Your integrations and click on the card corresponding to your application.
- On the application page, go to the Test accounts section and click the + Create test account button.
- On the "Create new account" screen, select the country of operation for the account. This information cannot be edited later and, additionally, the Buyer and Seller users must be from the same country.
- Next, enter a description to identify the account. For example: "Seller - store 1".
- Then, select the type of account you want to create: Seller or Buyer.
- If the test account requests it, fill in a fictitious cash amount that will serve as a reference for you to test your applications. This amount will appear as the balance in the test user's Mercado Pago account and can be used to simulate payments.
- Authorize the use of your personal data in accordance with the Privacy Statement and certify that your account uses Mercado Pago tools in accordance with the Terms and conditions by checking the checkbox.
- Click Create test account.
Done! The test account was created and will be displayed in the table with the information below.
- Country: Place of origin of the account selected during registration.
- User ID: User identification number (automatically created).
- User: Test account username automatically generated. This is the username used to log in with the test user.
- Password: Access password to the test user account automatically generated. To generate a new password, click the 3 vertical dots at the end of the table row and select the Generate new password option.
- Verification code: 6-digit number you must enter if email verification is requested when logging in with the test account.
Validate login with test accounts
If email authentication is requested when logging in with test accounts, enter the 6-digit verification code from the test account, which you can find in Your integrations > Your application > Tests > Test accounts.
Keep in mind that when logging in with a test account, you will not have access to certain sections of the Panel, such as Test credentials or Integration quality. These are sections that are not necessary for this type of account and may also interfere with its proper use.
